Louisville Equitable Forest Initiative (LEFI)
Environmental sustainability is at the forefront of the Louisville Equitable Forest Initiative (LEFI). This comprehensive program plans to plant and maintain 5,000 trees in underserved neighborhoods by 2029, enhancing the urban canopy and promoting environmental justice. LEFI also includes workforce development, training up to 80 residents in green industry skills, thereby contributing to both ecological and economic resilience. Read more about LEFI’s goals.
These initiatives exemplify Louisville’s dedication to fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable community. By supporting and participating in such programs, residents can contribute to the ongoing enrichment of our city’s neighborhoods.
